- See Scott Bonnell and the 360 and 410 winged dirt sprint cars race on the fast 3/8 mile pavement of L.E.S. Scott set a track record at 13.47 seconds in last year’s event. That record will surely fall this year. See some of the biggest names in dirt sprint racing in northwest PA.
- Also appearing that night will be Frank Guidale and some of northwest PA’s best 358 dirt modified drivers. See these 800 horsepower monsters tackle the L.E.S. pavement. Those at L.E.S. on 5/23/09 saw Frank put down 50 very fast laps in his modified doing some tire test hot laps.
- We also have the Stewart Financial Service Modified Invitational. It will be a 35 lap invitational for the L.E.S. modifieds. First place money will be the biggest pay out of the year.
- Our featured race will be the Lake/Eriez Shoot Out, featuring the dirt late model stars vs. the L.E.S. pavement stars. This will be Round 1 of the 2 round invitational to crown the best late model driver in this region. Last year saw only the dirt stars with David (Slow Ride) Scott taking the title of “Best Dirt Star on Pavement,” even though Dick Barton stated David cheated. This will be a race to remember. They all will be driving L.E.S. modifieds.

Highlights 2008 Events
140 golfers took to the upper course at the Peek in 70 degree sunshine for a great day of golf and prizes, followed by a trip to the VIP suites at Lake Erie Speedway for a great dinner, a sports item auction (a rare Steelers football going for $4200), and an incredible night of pavement racing. We had 13 of the best dirt super late model drivers in this region and the country racing on the pavement at LES. Dirt star David Scott started last in the field and in 10 laps passed the entire field to win his first ever race on pavement. Scott Bonnell set a new LES track record of 13.47 seconds in a dirt winger big block sprint car. In the pavement late model race it was side by side racing for the lead for 15 laps with the second and third place cars coming across the finish line spinning sideways. This night might have been one of the best nights of racing ever at Lake Erie Speedway. Don't miss the 2009 event in august of 2009 because it will be even bigger and better.
